Early concept art, left, are the earliest concepts, taking inspiration from various 90's video game characters. The colored images depict a scrapped "elemental" system. During this period, the game wasn't taking a futuristic approach.

The game has undergone many changes, from gameplay changes to character designs, the game was originally going to involve heavy usage of grappling, but it was later scrapped for a more shoot-em-up style, which was scrapped in favor of melee combat.
